just finished up this little pouch from Kumiko Sudo's book, "Omiyage".....has lots of fun little projects to sew up. I just used fabric that I had on hand, but would be great to use real Japanese kimono fabric. This pouch is called "candy twist" because the fabric twists as it goes down to a fabric covered button on the bottom. It is lined with pink cotton and I put little hearts on the drawstrings because I already had them made.
Today at the thrift store I found a brand new Japanese handkerchief that would be fun to use on my next pouch project.

That's so pretty, Mary! I think I have to reconsider that book. I've seen some lovely projects made from it on the blogs recently.
